Handmade Watercolor Sketchbooks - No Sewing

I saw a few YouTube videos on how to make handmade sketchbooks without sewing and made 3 sketchbooks with Arches cold press watercolor papers.  Since I was not crazy about sewing, I opted for the gluing method - I think it is called perfect binding.

For the covers, I used card stock papers which I had for a few years.

I used  Lineco Nuetral pH Liquid Adhesive for spins (4 coats) and Beacon's Fabri-Fix for all others. I found that Beacon's Fabri-Fix is the only glue that will not buckle or wrinkle any papers. I also tried  double-sided tapes for the inner paper between the cover the first page of the sketchbook, but it was a big mess.  I could not readjust the paper. So I am sticking with Fabri-Fix glue.

For the inside the covers, I used Bristol Smooth paper. I like the thickness of the paper which I thought would hold the sketchbook well.

Gluing the spin made the sketchbook to open flat, which is what I wanted.

For the spin, I decorated with washi tapes that I had and reinforced the area with shipping tape.
I thought it came out pretty well and very happy about it.  Once I finish my current Stillman & Birn Alpha Sketchbook, I will start using these.
